The Incredibles 2 First Teaser Trailer, Check It Out

It's been over a decade since Pixar released The Incredibles, their take on the superhero genre that still holds up extremely well today. Fans haven't seen much of Mr. Incredible and his family since then, but after years of waiting, a sequel is finally on the way.

Featuring most of the original cast, the movie picks up immediately where the original ended-- and Pixar has unveiled the first footage for the movie in a brand-new teaser trailer. Check out baby Jack-Jack run adorably amuck in the video below!


While the newest footage from Incredibles 2 doesn't contain much of the actual movie, it does feature plenty of Jack-Jack, the super-powered infant of the Parr family. Jack-Jack was front and center in the D23 footage showcased earlier this year, so fans should expect to see a lot more of the baby in the superpowered sequel. Possessing just about every superpower there is, Jack-Jack's shenanigans, which were the subject of a very entertaining Pixar short, will be a focus of the sequel, as the Incredibles have to figure out the logistics of living with an infant with zero self-control. If nothing else, the teaser proves that The Incredibles 2 is going to be cute as hell.

Rather than echo the real-life amount of time that has passed, The Incredibles 2 will take place almost immediately after the first film, which left off with the Parr family about to battle The Underminer. Whereas the original movie focused on Mr. Incredbile (Craig T. Nelson), the sequel will shine the spotlight on his wife, Elastigirl (Holly Hunter). While she's out dealing with superhero business, Bob Parr will be at home taking care of Jack-Jack. Other than that, no larger plot details have been released, but one imagines that some supervillain will give the Parr family some trouble.

The Incredibles is still one of the best superhero movies ever made, so Pixar has a tough job ahead living up to expectations with the sequel. However, they are off to a pretty good start. Original writer-director Brad Bird returns to lead the sequel, which features Craig T. Nelson, Holly Hunter, Samuel L. Jackson, and most of the original cast returning to reprise their roles. Only Spencer Fox, the voice of Dash, isn't returning-- but that's because he's too old to voice a child character anymore.
